First off, you can make four 6x6 scrapbook layout backgrounds with one piece of 12x12 cardstock and, since there isn't as much space to fill, you're forced into being frugal. The focus is also kept on your pictures, which, for all of the scrappers out there who love to feature their photos in their layouts, is an added bonus.

6x6 scrapbook layouts are also perfect for mini-books. Whether you make them for yourself, or for a friend as a gift, a simple mini-book can be knocked out in an afternoon…and finishing a scrapbook (no matter the size) is always a good feeling.
